Two-Spirit is a contemporary term that reflects complex Indigenous understandings of gender roles, spirituality, and the longstanding history of gender and sexual diversity in Indigenous cultures. While the term is modern, it reflects traditional roles and responsibilities held in many communities, with specific terms and roles varying by Nation. Not all Indigenous people with diverse sexual and gender identities identify as Two-Spirit; many may identify as LGBTQIA+.

In celebration of Indigenous History Month, the Gender and Sexual Diversity Network invites you to a conversation with Two-Spirit storyteller and Knowledge Keeper Dylan Jenkins.

This learning event will address common misconceptions about Two-Spirit identities and touch on the roles and responsibilities of Two-Spirit people in traditional and modern contexts.

This event will be presented in English with captions available in French.
