Senior Advisor, Public Service Pride Network (PSPN)

Job Summary:

This is a role centered on supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities through the shaping of the Network’s priorities, connecting of teams, and the provision of support to the Champion in leading the office. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, playing an important role in transforming challenges into successes, all while fostering a supportive environment for the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Additionally, you'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, further enhancing the Network’s reach and impact.

Who we are:

The Public Service Pride Network (PSPN) is a movement that began in 2018 by a group of federal employees committed to making the public service a workplace where 2SLGBTQIA+ public servants can be their authentic self, be respected and valued for their contributions to Canadians.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and recommendations to the Network Champion and other senior officials (Director level and above) on issues related to 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion in the federal public service.
  • Review and edit documents intended for a broad audience, ensuring quality assurance, clarity, and adherence to inclusive language from a communications perspective.
  • Coordinate the preparation of briefing materials to facilitate the participation of the Network Champion in discussions with various internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Organize events and liaise with network members and senior officials.
  • Develop and execute operational and communications strategies and plan to raise awareness of the Network's mission, objectives and activities.
  • Implement reporting tools to monitor and assess the effectiveness of these strategies and plans, ensuring informed decision-making.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience (3 to 5 years) providing strategic advice and support to senior officials (Director level and above).
  • Experience (minimum 2 years) developing and implementing operational plans and communications or marketing strategies.
  • Experience (3 to 5 years) leading files that demand horizontal coordination with internal and external partners or stakeholders.
  • Experience (1 to 2 years) in supervising staff including activities such as assigning work, following up on deliverables, preparing learning plans, providing formal and informal feedback, or coaching.
  • Experience juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and politically-sensitive environment.

Requirements:

Your home department/agency covers the IT equipment, salary (at level) and benefits for the duration of the 12 months micro-assignment. As such, we recommend discussing this opportunity with your manager prior to applying.
