Panel Discussion: The LGBT Purge – Testimonials from Veterans
Did you know? Between the 1950s and mid-1990s, LGBT members of the Canadian Armed Forces, the RCMP and the federal public service were systematically discriminated against, harassed and often fired as a matter of policy. This sanctioned practice, became known as the “LGBT Purge”. Our panel discussion will start with a history of the Purge, and our panelists from Rainbow Veterans Canada will share their first-hand experience of the life-changing impacts of the Purge.
